Bus & Rail
A bus service runs from Macclesfield to the area. For up to date information on bus timetables contact Traveline:

Bus timetables can also be obtained from local bus enquiry offices and tourist information centres in Macclesfield, Congleton and Buxton.

There are railway stations in nearby Macclesfield Town and further away in Buxton to the east of the forest.

Road Links & Car Parks
The entrance to the Visitors Centre and main car park can be found signposted from Buxton Old Road which is just off the A537 road between Macclesfield and Buxton.

Car parking is available at the Visitors Centre with visits over 30 minutes subject to pay and display charges. Parking is free for Blue badge holders and parking permits are available.

There are also information boards and a weather station on the side of the Visitors Centre.

There are a number of pubs in the area serving food and drink, including the Leather's Smithy at Macclesfield Forest, The Cat & Fiddle on the A537 Macclesfield to Buxton road and the St Dunstan Inn, (no food) in nearby Langley Village.

There is a Visitors Centre and facilities including a snack bar and additional car parking and toilets at nearby Macclesfield Forest near the Trentabank Reservoir.
